San Francisco, CA – The NBA Playoffs are completely different from the regular season. Saturday, the 2022 playoffs begin, and the Golden State Warriors have a handful of players who made it to the promised land, then there are the young guys who are making their first trip to the postseason.

After practice on Thursday, Klay Thompson told the media that he shared a Kobe Bryant moment with his teammates to help set the tone.

“There's a clip of Kobe Bryant, the late great Kobe, rest in peace to one of the greatest to ever do it. A video of him talking in that 2009 finals,” Thompson told ClutchPoints. “He's at a press conference and somebody asked him, why isn't he happy, and he's just incredibly lasered in.”

Times like these helped formulate the Mamba Mentality. That mindset got Bryant 5 NBA titles and made him a legend. Players in today's game love and admire.

“He's talking about the job not being finished,” the Warriors superstar continued. “So I try to show the young guys that clip and show them how even-keeled he was and how he had his eyes set on something bigger than just a 2-0 lead.”

Winning one game or winning one series isn't going to satisfy Thompson. He wants to win an NBA championship, and he believes they have a great chance of completing that goal. If the Dubs do win big, every member of the team will need to be on the same page. It all starts with the leaders, and Thompson knows it.
