It was reported on Thursday that the Cleveland Cavaliers could be keeping tabs on Golden State Warriors All-Star forward Andrew Wiggins. The 27-year-old is in the midst of a breakout season for the Dubs and is now set to make his first-ever appearance in the NBA Finals after the Warriors eliminated the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.
Despite his remarkable campaign, Wiggins' future with the Warriors still remains clouded with doubt. Unsurprisingly, though, Golden State is now reportedly thinking twice about potentially moving the former Rookie of the Year. According to Evan Dammarell of Right Down Euclid, the Dubs have been so impressed by Wiggins, particularly in the postseason, that they are now seriously considering him as a key part of the roster beyond this year:
The most interesting name league sources say could be worth watching for the Cavaliers is Golden State's Andrew Wiggins… But, before these rumors grows legs, those same sources says that the way Wiggins has performed in the playoffs may deter the Warriors from moving him right away.

Wiggins will be entering the final year of his current deal next season. This means that if the Warriors do want to trade him then they are likely to get max value this summer. They could also offer a contract extension, but the fact that they also want to do the same for Jordan Poole could complicate things for Golden State salary cap-wise.
What we can say for sure is that Wiggins has played well enough this season to make him a very valuable asset.
