Indiana Pacers star big man Domantas Sabonis has been experiencing some discomfort in his left knee. The injury is a result of a deep bone bruise. The left knee injury will continue to linger, but it won't restrict the veteran forward.

How Sabonis' Injury Could Get Worse
This is obviously bad news for the Pacers considering the bruise could remain a nuisance for the next month. However, Sabonis should not have any restrictions or additional risk of aggravation (via Agness):
“I’ve been told it’s a bone bruise, so there’s swelling in the bone that all doctors say it can’t get worse unless you get hit in that same spot,” he said.
Sabonis was evaluated by the team doctor, and then his representatives also had him checked out by two additional specialists, which is normal. And all three doctors were in agreement: It’s simply a bone bruise and he’s not subject to additional risk by continuing to play on it.
Sabonis has been one of the most dominant all-around frontcourt players in the NBA this season. Sabonis has averaged 17.8 points, 12.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists through his first 39 appearances.
The fourth-year man out of Gonzaga sat out Indiana's win against the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 10. But he has otherwise continued to play heavy minutes. Sabonis scored eight points to go along with five boards and four assists in a recent win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.
The injury should not be too limiting. But it wouldn't be a surprise if Indiana did in fact keep an eye on Sabonis' minutes. However, they have a tough five-game road trip that starts against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night.
