ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Indiana Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis' MRI result on his left knee indicated that there was no structural damage. According to reports, he just suffered a bruise. He is expected to be on a day-to-day basis on his return.

Pacers reporter Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files also said that Sabonis' knee issue was a contusion, although it is painful.

The news comes as a relief to Pacers fans as Sabonis is one of the best bigs in the league. The son of basketball legend Arvydas Sabonis is a double-double machine and has shown continuous improvement since being traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder. He made the All-Star team for the first time last season. This will most likely be his first of many appearances.

The Lithuanian-American has had a hot start to the season. He is putting up averages of 20.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists per game with good efficiency. Indiana currently has a record of 10-7, which puts them in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. They will once again try to make the playoffs but have a deeper run this time. With Myles Turner, they form a solid big-man pairing, which is necessary when playing against the likes of Joel Embiid and Bam Adebayo.

Sabonis sustained the knee injury in the Pacers' contest against the Toronto Raptors last Monday.  He has had knee issues in the past in 2020 and 2018.

Pacers fans are hoping that their players remain healthy this season. Turner had a hand issue earlier, and new acquisition Caris LeVert just had surgery on his kidney.
