Although the Golden State Warriors were missing two MVPs Monday in Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, the Sacramento Kings still have every right to relish their 110-106 win over the defending champions at home. What a way to begin the week for the Kings, who improve to 6-14, and now have won two of their last three games.

Sacramento’s upset win over Golden State wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the late-game heroics of Kings rookie Bogdan Bogdanovic. With the game tied at 106-106 with just under 20 seconds remaining on the game clock, the Serbian shooting guard took matters into his own hands even though Draymond Green was covering him. Left in an isolation situation against the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Bogdanovic drove to the basket and banked in a running shot over Green’s arms to give the Kings a 108-106 lead with still 12.6 seconds remaining.

Klay Thompson then missed a three-point shot on the other end of the floor following a timeout with Bogdanovic collecting the rebound. Bogdanovic was fouled by Warriors guard Patrick McCaw and calmly sank both free throws to keep the game out of Golden State’s reach.

Bogdanovic finished the game with 12 points to go with three assists.

He also earned the right today to talk smack at Green, but we’re not sure if he’s actually going to do that.
