The Oklahoma City Thunder may have successfully traded for Carmelo Anthony during the weekend to form their own version of a “Big 3,” but they had to part ways with one of their crowd favorites, Enes Kanter. The Turkish international has been well-loved in the city, for being outspoken about his desire to represent them. However, being a business, the Thunder front office had to decide for what's best for their future, and included him in the package for Anthony's services.
Now slated to play for the New York Knicks, Kanter reflected on his tenure in Oklahoma City. He shared one thing he learned from Russell Westbrook, being his former teammate, which he will bring with him throughout his professional career.
Enes Kanter says what he learned from Russell Westbrook was that you “have no friends” when it’s game time. Just your teammates.

Despite coming from the bench last season, Kanter played an important role for the Thunder, and provided them with quality minutes whenever he was on the floor. He also had good relationships with all his teammates, which has endeared him more to them. More importantly, he was not afraid to speak his mind about different issues surrounding their team and the league, and was always known to be loyal.
It will be very interesting to see how he will compete against Westbrook and company, and how he will be received by the Oklahoma City faithful when he visits Chesapeake Energy Arena next season for the first time wearing another uniform. It's expected that he'll get a rousing ovation from them, which could be a very emotional moment for him as well.
