The regular season is now less than two months away and there is still isn't any clarity on Carmelo Anthony's situation with the New York Knicks.

Despite that, Knicks rookie point guard Frank Ntilikina recently revealed that he has been participating in offseason workouts with Anthony, according to Ian Begley of ESPN.

Knicks rookie Frank Ntilikina told reporters at Yankee Stadium, including ESPN's Andrew Marchand, that he's worked out with Carmelo Anthony, Lance Thomas and several other Knicks as training camp approaches. Asked about Melo's uncertain future, Ntilikina said, “We were just focusing on playing and whatever will happen, will happen. We'll see.” Ntilikina shares a trainer, Chris Brickley, with Anthony so it's reasonable that they would work out together. The Knicks have talked to the Rockets about an Anthony trade but nothing has come to fruition. Ntilikina said he's become a baseball fan since he moved to the United States and his favorite team is the Yankees. He took a photo with slugger Aaron Judge before the game.

In the last several weeks, there has been much work on the front of getting the situation concerning Anthony resolved. The 33-year-old has remained fixated on getting a deal done with the Houston Rockets, but the teams have hit a standstill on trade discussion.

For the time being, Anthony remains a member of the Knicks with two years left on his five-year, $124 million deal that has a player option worth $27.9 million for the 2018-19 season. What has made things complicated is that he holds a no-trade clause that allows for him to have final say on any trade.

The 10-time All-Star has shown through various workouts that he still has plenty left in the tank to perform at a high level. He is coming off a season where he averaged 22.4 points on 43.3 percent shooting from the field with 5.9 rebounds per game.
