According to an article by Marc Berman of the New York Post, the lower leg injury suffered by New York Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. was worse than originally anticipated.
“This is serious,” Hardaway said on Thursday evening. “I’m going to take everything slow. This is a serious injury.”
Hardaway, who has now been out of the Knicks' lineup since Dec. 3, will be re-evaluated early next week so a more accurate timetable can be determined for his return.
“The goal is just to get better first,” Tim Hardaway Jr. added. “That’s the goal. I’m not giving myself no deadline. I don’t want to get to that point and be upset and down on myself. I don’t want to give myself a set date on when I should return. I’ll do what I can to get this right. When I’m confident and ready to go, then we’ll see.’’
In 21 starts so far this year, Hardaway has been the Knicks' second-leading scorer with 17.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.3. assists per game in roughly 34.1 minutes of action per contest.
Even without the services of Tim Hardaway Jr., the Knicks have managed to grind out three wins in a row to improve their record to 15-13 on the season and maintain their position as the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.
