The Los Angeles Lakers are ranked 11th in the Western Conference with a 27-34 record. Ever since franchise superstar Kobe Bryant retired in 2016, the Lakers have been spiraling towards a rebuilding phase, and so far it has worked.

The organization has drafted Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Julius Randle, and Brandon Ingram, all of whom have become vital contributors for the Lakers this season. Nonetheless, these young players have experienced growing pains all season and have not displayed the maturity enough to lead the Lakers to any success this year.

Right now, it's safe to say that the Lakers won't make the postseason. However, that doesn't mean that this young Lakers squad can't go out and compete at a high level. On Thursday night, Los Angeles destroyed the Miami Heat 131-113. During the game, the Tinseltown team recorded their best shooting night since 2014.

Four years ago, the Lakers were beginning to dwindle from the championship team they were in 2010. It's an encouraging sign that the Lakers dominated this game from the offensive end. What's more to expect? The Lakers' current roster is built to run and spread the offense, enabling them to engage in the fast-paced offense that has become commonplace in today's NBA.

New addition Isaiah Thomas scored a team-high 29 points, dished out six assists, and grabbed four rebounds. Randle followed up with 25 points, and Ingram poured in 19 points in the win. The Lakers' upcoming game is against the Spurs on Saturday night. Hopefully, this young team can build a trend and win another game with some explosive shooting.
