Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant didn't get many star teammates running alongside him during his career, with the exception of Shaquille O'Neal and Pau Gasol.

But when he thinks of who he would have liked to play with during his prime, one very familiar name came to his mind: LeBron James.

Bryant spoke on the Holding Court with Geno Auriemma podcast and went into more detail about it, per Lakers Nation.

“I think the player that would fit with me the most, I actually think would be LeBron,” Bryant said. “He’s a passer first, I’m a scorer, I’m a finisher. ‘Bron is a facilitator by nature and I’m a finisher by nature. Those two styles, I think compliment each other extremely well.”

It's an interesting choice by Bryant, but not all that far-fetched. When he thrived on the Lakers teams that won championships, the players that complemented him best were pass-first guys, like Gasol or Lamar Odom. James definitely fits that description, only he's probably the best forward ever to do it.

Just think about Bryant and James, both in their primes. It would make Lakers fans practically salivate and never be able to stop.

But alas, that didn't happen. Fans didn't even get to watch the two face each other in the NBA Finals — another big basketball what-if.

All people have left now is the thought of what could have been.
