It's been two years since Kobe Bryant last stepped on an NBA court. Hate him or love him, the former Los Angeles Lakers superstar is surely missed by most fans. Though he may not be playing anymore, we've been lucky enough to still see his signature shoes being worn and manufactured.

And per SoleCollector.com, new Kobe signature sneakers will be released on Mamba Day, April 13, named The “Mamba Day” Nike Kobe 1 Protro:

At the right heel is “4.13.18” – signifying two years since Bryant's last game in the NBA. To recall, he dropped 60 points on the Utah Jazz in front of the Lakers crowd at Staples Center. In addition, an “XX” on the lace fixtures on the shoes' tongue signifies The Black Mamba's 20 years with the Lakers. The insoles also show Kobe walking out to the court for the final time.

Kobe is one of the few players who, despite hanging up the jerseys and sneakers for good, still has some signature apparel coming out. One of the most popular, of course, is Michael Jordan who is a major sports and lifestyle brand in himself.

Will a “Kobe” brand roll out soon? The Lakers icon is certainly deserving. The latest signature shoes certainly won't be the last to come out. Several years down the line, his signature shoes could very well be beside the Jordan collection. And the fans, while choosing for the perfect pair, will go on a never-ending debate on who's the greatest of all time.
