Don’t expect any butterflies zooming back and forth inside Lonzo Ball’s stomach as he makes his way through his first career official NBA game.
Expressing confidence on himself akin to that of his father’s, Ball told Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints of how he’ll fare in his NBA debut.

Newcomers in the NBA tend to be very anxious before punching cards for their first day at work. It’s a very common phase for rookies, as the lights in the pros are much brighter than in any of the places they have played before. Perhaps not brighter than the one Ball’s family has been having since LaVar Ball and his sons burst into the mainstream scene — thanks in large part to the elder Ball’s mouth.
Article Continues BelowThe rookie point guard has been followed by the media all throughout the offseason. His family even has a reality show, so you could say that Ball is so used to public scrutiny that a mere NBA game doesn’t faze him.
Still, he must perform and meet expectations of him from a large fanbase that his family made to believe that he’s the franchise’s savior after getting drafted second overall in the 2017 NBA Draft.
The former UCLA Bruin gets his feet wet in the NBA on October 19 against the Los Angeles Clippers.
