On the day of his jersey retirement ceremony, Kobe Bryant has also shared on Twitter the link to his documentary film “Dear Basketball,” which is now available to watch for free public consumption on the go90-app, as well as across Verizon properties such as Yahoo Sports, AOL and Complex.

The five-minute film was directed by animator Glen Keane and features the Los Angeles Lakers legend reading his poem of the same name over a score composed by the renowned composer John Williams. It features an animated Bryant as a child going on his journey toward becoming one of the greatest players of all-time.
Article Continues BelowDear Basketball, which debuted at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, won two awards at the 2017 World Animation Celebration and is also one of 10 short films still in the running for an Academy Award.
Bryant wrote Dear Basketball in The Players Tribune in 2015 as an ode to his 20-year NBA career, which he announced would come to a close after the end of that season.
Two years after the release of that poem, Bryant is now set to have his No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys retired by the Los Angeles Lakers, and will become the first ever player to have two jersey numbers retired by the same franchise.
