Article Continues Below“What allows us to be as powerful as we are too is because we keep the main thing the main thing and that starts with me. Like if I was a shit basketball player none of this would be possible. You know, if I would've come into the league and was like, ‘OK. Yeah, I'm the number 1 pick.' and you know, “We here now. Give us it all.' Like people would be like, ‘Get out of here.' Like I had to put work in. And I'm still putting in work. Because that's just who I am. So like, we kept the main thing the main thing. The main thing is basketball and we never lost track of that. I never lost track of that. And once that thing is taken care of then the sky is the limit.”
LeBron James would not be able to do everything he does outside of basketball if it wasn't for his basketball ability and hard work. Sure, it all starts with his superhuman abilities when he steps on the basketball court, but he did put the work in to achieve where he is now.
James is saying that he has never lost focus on basketball — the main thing. That's what has gotten him to this point and he can't lose focus on that. As long as he has his eyes on the main thing, everything else will fall into place.
While the Lakers star is out with a groin problem, there's no doubt that he's practicing what he preaches. Through 34 games this season, LeBron is averaging 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.3 steals. He is also shooting 51.8 percent overall, 35.6 percent from deep and 68.2 percent from the free-throw line.
