Ball played at a high level in six games, averaging 16.3 points, 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. This includes recording a pair of triple-doubles along with a 36-point outing. In fact, his play on the court helped him become the first Summer League MVP in franchise history.

Following a slow start in the first game, Ball displayed increasing comfort behind strong performances that helped guide the Lakers to their Summer League title. He routinely made highlight plays with his passing ability being a factor in both transition and half-court setting.

During this process, he received praise from teammates and coaches alike, all raving about his passing skills and leadership on the court. Ball's pass-first style of play has many encouraged that he can quickly fulfill Magic Johnson‘s proclamation of becoming the new face of the franchise. If his play in the Summer League is indicative of things to come, the Lakers certainly have plenty to be excited about moving forward.
