Now that they've successfully re-signed Kawhi Leonard and Reggie Jackson, and added versatile wing Justice Winslow, the Clippers have once again improved their roster and are heavy favorites to win the NBA title in 2022. There is one major area of weakness that still remains though, even with all their recent activity during the early part of 2021 NBA Free Agency.

As dominant as they've been and with all they accomplished last season, they'll still have to fill this major hole on their roster. Filling this void will give them the ultimate edge and a complete rotation that could really put them over the top and land them their first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history. So without further ado, let's take a look at the biggest need the Clippers still must address after the first week of 2021 NBA Free Agency.

Clippers Free Agency Situation

Clippers biggest need: A young and durable center that can make an immediate impact

Even though it is a relatively dry free agent market for centers this year, there are still a few big men available who could have a major impact on the Clippers and provide them with some much-needed depth that would shore up their front line and add to their already tenacious defense. With the Clippers now boasting a plethora of multi-skilled wings, they still lack a durable option at center outside of Ivica Zubac.

DeMarcus Cousins wasn't bad for them last season, but he still wasn't 100% healthy and was a defensive liability at times. A few names that come to mind are Bismack Biyombo and Harry Giles. Both are free agents and would be welcome additions on the Clippers. Not to mention their games could vastly improve playing with the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Terrence Mann, Reggie Jackson, and Justice Winslow.

With their relentless two-way brand of basketball, the Clippers would be truly unstoppable with a consistent center rotation. The addition of Biyombo or Giles would give them another shot blocking and rebounding big that could provide some relief to Zubac who played the bulk of minutes at center during the Clippers deep playoff run in 2021. Especially now that they've got their core returning to action next season.

The skillsets of Biyombo and Giles fit in perfectly with the system LA wants to run and would give them a solid back-up to Ivica Zubac next season. Between the skills and experience of both free agent centers, either would make for a perfect addition to the Clippers and be able to make an immediate impact during their NBA Finals run in 2022.

So if the Clippers are looking to make that next leap during the 2021-22 NBA season, then this is a need that absolutely must be addressed if they want to get past some of the bigger teams in the Western Conference like the Nuggets, Jazz, Lakers, and Suns. Not only would this give them a more balanced attack on both ends of the floor, but it also allows them to utilize multiple line-ups that would further showcase their depth.
