In their win over the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard set the franchise record for most points in a Christmas Day game.

Leonard finished with a total of 35 points in their 111-106 win. The Klaw shot 11-of-19 from the field, 5-of-7 from deep, and a perfect 8-of-8 from the free-throw line. He also had 12 rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

Leonard was spectacular the entire game — perhaps the most anticipated matchup since their opening season duel. As evidenced by his statistics, he had it going from the perimeter and from downtown, too. His trademark defense was also up to par against LeBron James.

The Clippers now lead the season series against the Purple and Gold, 2-0. While the Lakers still have the best regular-season record, from the looks of it — at least based on their first two games against one another — the Clippers have their number.

The line up of Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley, Montrezl Harrel, Paul George, and Leonard have proven to the most lethal starting five in the league today. The group consists of closers, the best two-way players in the league, elite defenders who are all tied together with a shared intensity.

Analysts believe that the two teams will be the ones battling it out for the Western Conference title. Any true basketball fan knows how different a regular-season game is from a playoff game. But a lot can be garnered from the Clippers' two wins over the Lakers. One of which is that when all eyes are on him, Leonard will put up a great performance.
