L.A. Clippers shooting guard Lou Williams has bounced around a number of teams in his pro career. That means he has also played with a lot of teammates with different personalities. And when he was asked by Alex Wong of GQ which teammate is his favorite, he did not hesitate to say that it’s Toronto Raptors swingman DeMar DeRozan.

GQ: You’ve played on a bunch of teams throughout your career. Who is your favorite teammate?

LW: DeMar DeRozan. He’s the coolest person in the world—the most down-to-earth and supportive teammate I’ve had in my career. I was at a bit of a crossroads in my career when I came to Toronto. DeMar and Kyle [Lowry] were the people that really lifted me up. I respect them for that.

Williams played in Toronto during the 2014-15 season in which he averaged 15.5 points across 80 games played entirely off the bench. After that season, Williams would play for the Los Angeles Lakers before the Lakers traded him to the Houston Rockets. Then last year, Williams was shipped from Houston to the Clippers, where he is now enjoying the best season of his career. Williams is averaging career-high numbers of 22.7 points and 5.3 assists per game with the Clippers.

In his own right, Lou Williams is one of the swaggiest players in the NBA. His demeanor on the court paired with his fantastic offensive skills makes the 31-year-old veteran a player to watch in each and every game the Clippers play.

It would not come as a surprise if DeMar DeRozan also thinks that Williams is the coolest player he has played with.
