With their season on the line, Kawhi Leonard came through in a big way for the LA Clippers, leading the way to a win over Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks to force a Game 7.

Leonard finished Friday's game with a career playoff-tying 45 points on 18-of-25 shooting from the field. He led both teams in scoring, and scored at least 10 points in each of the final three quarters to keep the Mavs at bay throughout the night.

In the fourth quarter of Game 6, Leonard and Paul George repeatedly sought Luka Doncic on the offensive end to attack the third year guard. George hit a few jumpers over Doncic early in the fourth to provide some much needed some separation while Leonard took a breather. Kawhi checked in at around the nine minute mark of the fourth and continued to feast on Doncic, scoring from all over the court at will.

After the game, Doncic was left speechless at Leonard's 45-point night, which included a pair of dagger three-pointers late.

“He destroyed us,” Doncic said. “That’s what it is. He had a hell of a game. That’s what he does.”

Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said the team noticed Doncic getting fatigued and wanted to attack him repeatedly.

When asked if he could tell Doncic was tired out on the floor and tried to target him, Leonard didn't mince words.

“Thank you want to attack everybody on the floor, whoever is in front of me, whatever the matchup is,” Kawhi Leonard responded. “You know, I can't have an indecisive mind out there. If I feel like I have an angle or they are giving me something, then I've got to attack it.”

Luka Doncic finished with another incredible statline: 29 points, eight rebounds, 11 assists, and four steals on 11-of-24 shooting. He did, however score 13 points in the first quarter and only 16 points in the final three quarters. Much of that was due to the team defense centered on stopping Doncic led by Kawhi Leonard, who took the challenge to guard him one-on-one for most of the game.

“He still played a pretty good game, 29-11-8,” Leonard pointed out. “He's a very dominant player, very skilled, plays at his own pace. All I could do is try to stay in front of him as much as possible, contest his shots and just try not to put him on the free throw line… Just a good team defense tonight.”

The Clippers will need much of the same from Leonard on both ends Sunday afternoon for Game 7. The Clippers have gotten off to slow starts in their weekend afternoon games, so it'll be interesting to see how they come out Sunday at 12:30PM PST
