Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley does not exactly have a great reputation in the league, so even when he does something that just barely blurs the line between legitimate and dirty, he receives criticism.
On Sunday night, Beverley made a great defensive play on Denver Nuggets guard Isaiah Thomas, blocking a three-point attempt by the former All-Star. However, after the block, the two players banged legs, and Thomas took a hard fall:

There was nothing dirty about that play, as Beverley made a play on the ball and there was merely incidental contact as a result.
But, Beverley was not too happy with Bleacher Report's description of the defensive stop, apparently taking issue with the media company saying that Thomas was “hit” by the hard-nosed floor general:
Putting negativity in the air. Grabbed and kick me. But is he ok…. stop searching. This is good defense. https://t.co/829QXrrftc

Of course, any denunciation that Beverley receives dates back to the 2013 playoffs, when he went to steal the ball from Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook as Westbrook was calling timeout, resulting in Westbrook's leg twisting and causing a torn meniscus.
Ever since then, Beverley has gained a reputation as a “dirty” player, but it really is debatable. Beverley was traded to the Clippers as part of the Chris Paul deal in 2017.
While Beverley is certainly physical, there is a difference between playing tough, physical defense and then being Zaza Pachulia. It does not seem like Beverley has ever really crossed that line, and even with the Westbrook play, Beverley was legitimately making a play on the ball.
It's hard to blame Beverley for taking issue with things like this, as he must grow tired of constantly having to defend his physical brand of basketball.
