This was in December 2011, when the NBA was close to officially returning from a lockout. The Clippers just made a splash when they swung a trade that landed them Chris Paul, one of the best and purest point guards the current era has ever seen.
An extra shock was in the deal, as Paul was originally dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers but got sent back when the NBA executives vetoed the trade, who, at that time, owned the then-New Orleans Hornets. The phrase “basketball reasons” became a popular meme because of the infamous incident.
Nevertheless, just like any fan or probably any Clippers player on the roster would, DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin got very hyped up upon hearing the news. Jordan, who, as seen on the video, was handed the news via phone, sounded ecstatic, and enthusiastically bumped shoulders with Griffin out of joy.

The trio of Paul, Griffin, and Jordan went on to become one of the most entertaining triplets in the league. They gave themselves the nickname “Lob City” with the number of alley-oops and dunks they are showcasing every game.
Of course, as you may all know, their core never fully lived up to the billing. They had five 50-plus-win seasons and six campaigns with at least a .606 winning percentage, but the team never made it past the second round. It included being on the wrong end of upsets, blowing a 3-1 series lead, and several unfortunate injuries in the playoffs.
Fast forward to a few years, Chris Paul is now a Houston Rocket after requesting a trade and Blake Griffin is shockingly sent to the Detroit Pistons months after signing a five-year extension. It's even known that the two superstars clashed often as teammates.
DeAndre Jordan is all that's left in the once-exciting group. The same guy who was ready to jump ship in 2015 only to change his mind when he got convinced by Griffin and other Clippers to stay. He too could be gone in L.A. when the Feb. 8 trade deadline hits.
Welp, don't worry, Clippers Nation. There's always YouTube to help you reminisce.
