Heading to the playoffs for the sixth straight season, the Los Angeles Clippers‘ season is far from over. But Wednesday night brought the final regular season game of Paul Pierce‘s 19-year career.

Pierce announced before the season that his intentions to retire after playing for 19 successful seasons for teams like the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards and Clippers. But despite an emotional moment in Boston, Pierce hasn't had a Kobe Bryant-like retirement tour. Instead, it has just been a quiet fact that Pierce will retire at the end of the season.

Despite the little fanfare to his upcoming retirement, his Clippers teammates and fans made Pierce's final regular season game quite special.

With a little over two minutes left in their 115-95 victory over the Kings, the Clippers showed a tribute video on the jumbotron honoring Pierce. Moments after the video's conclusion, fans started chanting, “We want Paul.” Pierce just shook his head on the bench, but after the urging of Chris Paul and head coach Doc Rivers, the future Hall of Famer reluctantly entered the game, which his teammates and Clippers fans thoroughly enjoyed.

Pierce missed both of his three-point attempts and didn't record a single stat in the close to two minutes he played. But despite his inability to score, thanks to the fans and his teammates, that final regular season game will likely be one Pierce never forgets about.
