Could Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant be teaming up after all? It looks like that might happen.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Leonard and Durant are looking to join either the Los Angeles Clippers or the New York Knicks together and have been discussing free-agent scenarios to make that happen.
This obviously counters all of the recent talk that Leonard could join the Los Angeles Lakers with LeBron James and Anthony Davis or that Durant wanted to team up with Kyrie Irving in Brooklyn, but it is something that has been mentioned throughout the year.
Free agency doesn't legally begin until Sunday at 6 Eastern. Even with that being the case, leading up to the offseason's biggest few weeks, it hasn't stopped all the crazy rumors from surfacing.
Article Continues BelowHowever, it is certainly worth noting that Woj doesn't deal in rumors. He's a legitimate reporter who wouldn't drop a dime like this unless there was solid information to back it up.
To be clear, he is not saying this is for sure happening.
All things being equal, though, this does provide both franchises huge glimmers of hope. After all, and I'm not 100 percent sure if you heard, but Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant are both very good at basketball. Some would even say great.
