Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone made plenty of key adjustments in their Game 2 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

However, Malone feels likes those adjustments weren't enough, and he believes that his team needs to do a “better job of handling the blitz.”

“We have to do a better job of handling the blitz, getting off the ball quicker, spacing the floor correctly, and making them pay,” Malone told Nuggets reporters on Saturday, via Joel Rush of Forbes Sports. “They went really small, they took Zubac out, they took Montrezl out, they put JaMychal Green at the 5, and they double-teamed him every time he touched it in the post.”

Furthermore, Malone said it will be very important that the Nuggets are able to find more scoring than just Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic. Murray and Jokic combined for an astonishing 53 points in their Game 2 win; however, their third leading scorer, Gary Harris, only scored 13 markers.

“It's gonna be really important,” Michael Malone added. “You always want to have a 3rd scorer, whether that…is Gary Harris or Jerami Grant or it's more by committee.”

Nevertheless, after a 23-point loss in Game 1, the Nuggets looked like a totally different team in Game 2. Not only were they more energized, but they showed toughness throughout the contest.

With that being said, the Nuggets most certainly need to keep playing with that same type of energy if they want to win the series. The Clippers are one of the most complete teams in the league, so it won't be easy to beat them in a seven-game showdown.

Game 3 between the Nuggets and Clippers will be on Monday.
