The Denver Nuggets were absolutely outclassed by a determined Los Angeles Clippers side on Friday in what was touted as a marquee matchup between two of the top teams in the Western Conference. L.A. pounded the Nuggets from the get-go, and never looked back, as they emerged with a convincing 132-103 victory in this crucial contest.
For Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic, though, he believes that this was nothing more than another bad game for his side.
Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic after blowout loss to Clippers: “We’ve had a lot of bad losses. Maybe this one is, as you guys say, a little bit more important but this isn’t the end of the road. We’ve had a lot of losses to teams with worse records than them and we’ve responded well.” pic.twitter.com/W7V5ljjJlk

For his part, Jokic finished the game with 21 points on an efficient 9-of-13 from the floor, while also adding on nine rebounds, two assists, a steal, and three turnovers. The 7-foot big man logged only 25 minutes in this one, with the game already decided way before the final buzzer.
Jokic did his best to try and downplay Denver's heavy loss on Saturday, but we all know that the Clippers were able to send a message here not only for the Nuggets but for the rest of the league as well. Kawhi Leonard and company are not kidding around, and they proved on Saturday that they are very much capable of overpowering a formidable side in Denver.
With this win, the Clippers are now tied with the Nuggets for the second spot in the West. Both teams now have an identical 40-19 record, with both sides behind the first-place Los Angeles Lakers by six games. The season series between the Nuggets and the Clippers is now also tied at one game apiece, after Denver's 114-104 victory over L.A. on January 13. These two teams will have one final regular season matchup on Mar 19, and you can be sure that the Nuggets will be out for some revenge in that one.
