The Los Angeles Clippers dropped a bomb on the NBA after they acquired Paul George from the Oklahoma City Thunder, which they then used to lure in reigning Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard.
After the dust had settled, George took it to Instagram to show some love and appreciation to Oklahoma City. He even gave a special shout out to Russell Westbrook.

As sincere as George looked with his heartfelt post, this contrasts reports that he requested a trade from the franchise a few days ago. Likewise, after the deal was announced, George didn't hold back his excitement about coming home and playing in Los Angeles next season.
But you can't really blame him. When the reigning Finals MVP — who just took a distraught franchise and an entire country on his back and led them to their first NBA championship — comes calling and says that he wants to play with you, you do whatever it takes to get there.

George played two seasons with the Thunder, who traded for the two-way star in the summer of 2017. After losing to the Donovan Mitchell-led Utah Jazz in the first round in the 2018 playoffs, many speculated that George would bolt the Thunder for the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason. However, George chose to return to OKC with some “unfinished business.” And for the most part, he seemed like a man on a mission in 2018-19.
PG13 had a career year last season, serving as the team's primary option on offense. He averaged 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals — all career-bests — en route to a third place finish in MVP voting and a First-Team All-NBA selection.
Unfortunately, his season ended in massive disappointment again as they bowed out of the first round for the second consecutive year.
George had shoulder surgery following the end of their season. Now, he gets to start anew in his homecoming with the Clippers alongside fellow California native Kawhi Leonard.
