Lou Williams shined bright once again, leading the LA Clippers with 33 points in a rousing Game 5 win. Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant, who led all scorers with 45 on the night, noted it's not easy to just stop Williams from going off:
“You can't just say I'm gonna stop Lou Williams tonight,” said Durant. “You just gotta hope you're locked in and things go well. He got loose tonight. We put him at the free-throw line, that got him going a bit. Knocking fallaway jump shots in, he gets to his spots, he's making passes. And then he's so crafty that if you get close to him, he's going to get fouled. He knows how to use his body, he knows how to use his weight. It's just one of those games where he's tough to stop.”
The Warriors have witnessed three such games in this postseason, as Williams has put up 25 or more in Games 1, 2 and 5.

As Kevin Durant noted, when Lou Williams gets rolling, it comes in bunches, as his Games 3 and 4 totals only came in at 16 and 12 points, respectively, while he is averaging 10 assists in the other games.
Williams' scoring will often unlock another vital part of his game, his intrinsic connection with Montrezl Harrell, who was the benefactor of many assists en route to 24 points on 11-of-14 shooting.
The two bench cogs often play off each other, and when they do, it usually represents problems for the Warriors. They combined for 57 points off the bench, which ultimately gave the Dubs a second loss in this series.
