Baseball agent Scott Boras, arguably the most powerful agent in the MLB, will honor Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant’s final wish for John Altobelli’s surviving daughter.
Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka revealed at Kobe and Gianna Bryant's memorial on Monday at Staples Center that Bryant's final text to him was about getting Altobelli’s daughter, Alex, an internship in baseball.

Baseball agent Scott Boras told the Los Angeles Times he will honor Kobe Bryant’s wishes and create an internship for the late John Altobelli’s surviving 16-year-old daughter, Alexis. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka opened his speech Monday at Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s public memorial service by sharing a story about the future Hall of Famer’s request.
Pelinka said he was in church on Jan. 26 when he received a text message from Bryant, who wanted to know if he could help him contact “a certain baseball agent based in Southern California.” Bryant wanted to recommend Alexis for an internship at the agent’s office.
It's incredible how Bryant's last act on this Earth was for someone else. The Lakers icon is going to be missed by so many people, not just folks associated with basketball either.
Bryant tributes will continue for a while, as they should. The basketball community will make it a point to never forget Bryant’s legacy both as a player and father. He was an idol to a whole generation of people. Kobe will live on forever.
The Lakers retired Bryant’s No. 8 and 24 jerseys last year. Now, the late NBA legend is set to be a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer as part of an incredible class of 2020. There will never be another Kobe Bryant, that’s for certain.
