Anthony Davis further cemented his claim as the next great big man in LA, recording his fourth career 40-point, 20-rebound outing in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 102-91 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Davis’ feat makes him the active player with the most 40-20 stat lines, overtaking his Lakers teammate DeMarcus Cousins who has three, per Ben Golliver of The Washington Post.

The all-time record holder is another former Laker Wilt Chamberlain, who tallied a staggering 229 games with a 40-20 stat line.

Davis logged in 31 minutes in the Lakers’ third consecutive victory and wreaked havoc against Memphis’ frontline.

The six-time All-Star dealt with shoulder soreness at the beginning of the match and left the game for a brief moment to get it re-taped. He picked up where he left off upon returning and commanded the team's interior alongside fellow bigs Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee.

In four games so far, Davis has been everything the Lakers could have hoped for when they traded for him in a blockbuster deal with the New Orleans Pelicans in the offseason.

Entering the Memphis match, Davis was averaging 25.0 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.3 blocks, while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and making 33.3 percent of his shots from distance.

Apart from picking up the massive double-double, he also set a new Laker franchise record with 26 made free throws. Opposing defenses have had no way to stop AD so far, as he’s been drilling 81.5 percent of his trips to the charity stripe.
