Sunday's game versus the Denver Nuggets could be a very costly one for the Los Angeles Lakers as superstar Anthony Davis left the game in the second quarter due to an injury. Even more concerning, Davis immediately reached for his right Achilles tendon area.
AD was trying to get past the defense of Nuggets center Nikola Jokic when he bumped legs with the big man from Serbia as he made his move to the rim.

Davis immediately left the game and has yet to return. He had 15 points on 5-for-11 shooting on top of four rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes of action.
His status remains unclear at the moment, but the Lakers likely won't risk bringing him back at least for this game against the Nuggets. It is worth noting that the seven-time All-Star already missed two games this season for Achilles tendinosis.

Davis, who's averaging all-around norms of 22.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2.4 blocks, earlier claimed that he is not really dealing with an Achilles injury and he's only taking precautions because he did not want to play around with a potentially serious matter.
He returned in the Purple and Gold's last game against the Memphis Grizzlies, putting up a game-high 35 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks in the come-from-behind victory.
The Lakers have won their last seven consecutive games even with Anthony Davis missing some time. His possible extended absence, however, is indeed worrisome for LeBron James and the rest of the Lakers bid to repeat as champions.
