Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma has been hitting his strides for the team as of late. He showed his value to the team as he produced another double-double performance in their game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night which eventually earned praise from his teammate Anthony Davis, via Mike Trudell.
Anthony Davis said Kyle Kuzma has “Made a jump … his value for our team has grown even from last year until now … he brings that spark for us … we love him here, we’re very happy to have him here."

Meanwhile, the former Utah standout insisted that he is trying to make an impact on the defensive end and focusing on his offensive rebounding to help the Lakers.
Kuz said he’s most focused on “trying to become a great defender,” especially on this particular team with limited opportunities offensively. He’s also focusing on the offensive glass: “I don’t really like standing in the corner."

Kuzma was a key part in overcoming a slow start which eventually allowed the defending champions to escape with a narrow win over the Grizzlies. He, along with Davis and LeBron James, all stepped up for the Purple and Gold and successfully knocked down timely baskets in crunch time.
After missing two straight games, Anthony Davis finally returned on the floor and notched 35 points and nine rebounds to lead the team. James had another all-around effort with tallies of 28 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Meanwhile, Kuzma added 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers.
The production of the three players was enough to overcome a resilient Grizzlies squad bannered by Ja Morant, Jonas Valanciunas, and Grayson Allen en route to a 115-105 victory. With the win, the Lakers continue to improve with a 21-6 record for the second spot in the Western Conference.
With tougher games ahead of them, the Lakers will certainly need an added production from Kyle Kuzma along with the other players on their roster. The team will seek their eighth consecutive victory when they visit the Denver Nuggets on Feb. 14.
