The Lakers were already going to have a tough time defeating the lethal Denver Nuggets on Wednesday. Things just got even tougher without Ingram, who has been playing some of the best basketball of his career since the trade deadline passed.

On the season, Brandon Ingram is averaging 18.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. The 21-year-old is shooting 49.7 percent from the field, 33.0 percent from beyond the arc and 67.5 percent from the free-throw line.
At this point, it's going to take a miracle for the Lakers to make the postseason. They are five and a half games out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. LeBron James is still the best player in the world, but the roster he's surrounded with in Los Angeles just isn't that good.
The Lakers are going to be without their second and third leading scorers on Wednesday. Along with Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma is out with an ankle injury.
It's just been that type of season for the Purple and Gold, who haven't been the same team since James got hurt on Christmas against the Golden State Warriors.
