On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Orlando Magic. In four quarters of play, they were soundly defeated 127-105. Obviously, this was a frustrating loss for the Lakers who are one of the worst teams in the NBA. In fact, according to Bill Oram of the SoCalNewsGroup, Brook Lopez was visibly distressed for not playing the fourth quarter in the loss.
Brook Lopez did not speak to reporters tonight after what was clearly an emotional night for him. He did not play after the 10:27 mark of the 3rd quarter. Mid-way through the 4th, he draped a towel over his head, then wiped his eyes. Lopez briefly went back to the locker room, but when he returned was more composed and stone-faced, cheering for teammates. It has been a tumultuous year for Lopez, a FA to be. On top of everything, on Friday he plays his first game in Brooklyn as an opponent.
It's a common thing for players to be upset if they didn't play the fourth quarter. As the Lakers' starting center, Lopez likely felt bad that his team got blown out by another terrible team, and felt that his play could have warranted a victory for the Lakers.

However, against the Magic, Lopez only scored only five points and grabbed a rebound in nine minutes. For some reason, Lakers head coach Luke Walton decided not to put Lopez back in the game during the blowout. Whatever the case may be, Lopez was visibly frustrated in the aftermath of the game.
In the Lakers' upcoming contest, they will take on the Brooklyn Nets, Lopez's previous team. Hopefully, the big man can redeem himself and lead his team to a victory.
