In NBA.com's survey polling all 30 NBA general managers, the select few responded to 47 different questions about the best teams, players, coaches, fans, and offseason moves. The GMs favored Los Angeles Lakers No. 2 overall selection Lonzo Ball to come out as the Rookie of the Year award winner at the end of this 2017-18 season with an overwhelming 62 percent of the vote, with Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers coming in at a distant second (26 percent) and Dennis Smith of the Dallas Mavericks third with 7 percent of the vote.

These GMs were not allowed to vote for their own team or personnel. The percentages shown are purely based on the pool of respondents who answered that particular question, rather than a total from the 30 polled executives.

Also receiving votes were Sacramento Kings point guard De'Aaron Fox and third overall pick Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics.

Ball has shown many flashes of pure brilliance during his stint in the Summer League and has drawn raving reviews from his teammates and coaching staff throughout the offseason, with some executives going as far as describing him as a generational talent due to his uncanny ability to see the floor, thanks to his 6-foot-6 frame and unparalleled willingness to share the rock.
