Los Angeles Lakers guard Isaiah Thomas put up one of his better outings off the bench against his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, for whom he played a mere 15 games this season before taking a decisive 127-113 win on Sunday night.
The 5-foot-9 dynamo put up 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting from the floor, nine assists, and five rebounds off the bench in his 31 minutes of playing time — a performance he feels confident he can repeat against different opponents.
“Given the opportunity, I can play like that every game,” said Thomas post-game, per Dan Duangdao of ClutchPoints. “It is not a surprise.”
Many thought this was Thomas' best chance at a revenge game after the Cavs let him go only a month after their experiment with him as one of the key return pieces for point guard Kyrie Irving.

The Lakers have now won their 30th game, surpassing their total wins from last season by four with 16 more outings to go in the season.
Los Angeles has won seven of their last 10 games and Thomas has played a part in their dynamic scoring, despite struggling with his efficiency from the field, though, he's led the team in assists in three of the last four games.
It's likely Thomas only has a few more games left with the franchise, but at this point, he's battling to help his stock in a season where he's taken a major dip after coming back from a hip injury.
