In tonight’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James became the third player in NBA history to reach 35,000 points. The accomplishment came as James stepped onto the free-throw line late second quarter.

James’ accomplishment shows the dedication and versatility throughout the course of his career. In 18 seasons, James has averaged 27 points per game on 50% shooting. James has shown his scoring dependability as he holds the record for most consecutive double-digit scoring games. From Cleveland, Miami, and Los Angeles, James continues to be the force of the NBA with his high level of play.

The accolades speak for themselves. James is currently a four-time NBA Champion, along with four NBA Finals MVP and four regular-season MVP. He has shown the ability to extract every ounce of success out of each franchise he has been apart of and put them in championship contention. James’ ability to continue to win keeps him in the GOAT conversation alongside Michael Jordan, if he hasn't already surpassed that like some believe.

This season is no different for LeBron James. After a shortened offseason, James is still leading the way for Los Angeles. He is averaging 25.7 points per game along with 8.2 rebounds and 7.9 assists. James has managed to play all 30 games for the Lakers and put them in a position to win despite a depleted roster.

Currently, LeBron James remains a clear frontrunner in MVP discussions. His name has remained in conversations with Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, and Damian Lillard. With the loss of Anthony Davis for a significant amount of time, James will continue to step up big in a magnificent way. And a lot more points, too.
