Even though his career isn't close to over yet, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is already getting his jersey retired.
The Akron RubberDucks, the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, hosted a jersey retirement for the brand new Lakers forward.
The baseball club had a fan in a Cavaliers shirt reveal a portrait of James' name on a baby-blue jersey on their outfield wall.

RubberDucks general manager Jim Pfander explained the jersey retirement in a baseball environment, saying “LeBron James' greatness on the basketball court is unquestioned, but his commitment to his hometown of Akron is what really makes him a ‘legend'.”

James also has been a vocal supporter of the Cleveland Browns, sporting a custom-made jersey with his name on the back and even filming a commercial in 2009 that spoofed his signing with the team.
This is a kind tribute to a home-grown star who has brought fame and glory to the town of Akron. Even though he no longer plays for the Cavs, it is clear that the city still embraces James and will revere him and the championship he brought to Cleveland for ages to come.
Lebron has always professed love for his hometown teams, and it is fitting that he is receiving some love back.
