In case you missed it, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James delivered this beautiful reverse windmill throwdown on the break against the Houston Rockets on Thursday.

That particular dunk was eerily similar to a dunk that late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant pulled off 19 years ago. Lakers fans can't help but put the two highlights side by side:

While talking about the identical dunks, the Lakers star referenced the 1997 movie “The 6th Man” to describe what happened when he threw down the creative slam:

“Ever see the movie ‘The 6th Man'?” James asked after the Lakers' 125-120 victory over the Warriors, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN. “Kobe came down, put himself in my body and gave me that dunk on that break.”

The sports comedy film featured two brothers Antoine and Kenny (portrayed by Kadeem Harrison and Marlon Wayans, respectively) playing for the University of Washington. Unfortunately, in one of the games, Antoine died of a heart attack after making a dunk. But following his death, Antoine returns as a ghost to help Kenny and the rest of their team through their journey to the championship.

Many thought James did the dunk on purpose. However, the Lakers forward admitted he didn't have it planned and it simply just happened:

“I didn't really predetermine that either until I jumped,” James said. “I just jumped and kind of figured it out, and then … it's crazy how it's the same exact dunk, the same exact hoop that Kobe did [it on] — what, 19 years ago or something like that? That was nice.”

Maybe The King is right. Maybe Kobe did come down from the heavens to recreate that dunk.
