The Los Angeles Lakers netted their third win of the season after a 2-4 start, managing a clear 20-point win over the red hot Detroit Pistons, who were coming off three straight wins against Western Conference teams.

This was perhaps one of Lonzo Ball's best games at the scoring end, netting 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting and not turning the ball over during his 28-minute run.

Head coach Luke Walton noted the rookie was “really, really impressive tonight,” and that this could be perhaps his best performance since a 29-point explosion against the Phoenix Suns, following a ghastly debut against defensive ace Patrick Beverley and the L.A. Clippers.

“He just set the tone and I thought the whole team fed off of how he was playing,” said Walton, according to Bill Oram of SoCalNewsGroup.

Ball is still adjusting to the speed of the game and players' strength and athleticism at the pro level, a vast difference from college athletics. While his vision is indeed at an elite level, the rest of his game — his pace, aggression, patience, and sense of timing will also have to catch up to that level to make it all work.

Games like this are only the beginning for what seems to be routed to be a promising career.
