After starting the season undefeated in road games, the Los Angeles Lakers have now dropped two consecutive games on their Eastern Conference swing. Tonight, the Lakers were defeated 107-92 in their bout against the lowly Detroit Pistons, dropping their record to 14-6 on the season.
The Lakers were without their star power forward Anthony Davis tonight due to a bruised quad. The loss certainly was evident throughout the contest. The Pistons were able to score at will and penetrate their way to the basket throughout the game. The Pistons took charge in the fourth quarter, and really pulled away with just LeBron James there to hold the fort for the Purple and Gold. Their 11 point difference was the difference maker in their defeat of the Lakers.
This is the first real bad game the @Lakers have played this season.

After the game, former Laker great Magic Johnson took to Twitter to address the Lakers second consecutive loss. By looking at the tweet itself, it looks as if Johnson wasn’t too concerned about the defeat. By the way the Lakers have played so far this season, 15 points is their largest defeat so far this year. Although bad nights do happen in the NBA, the defending champions do not want to make nights like this a habit.
The Lakers will continue their road trip this Saturday night, when they'll be pitted against their rival Boston Celtics. Anthony Davis will more likely be prepared to suit up and play for that contest, having the squad back at full strength. After a couple of bad losses, the Lakers will definitely be back to their winning ways sooner rather than later.
