Most NBA executives believe Andre Iguodala will end up with the Los Angeles Lakers, not the Los Angeles Clippers, once he gets his situation resolved with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Iguodala is owed $17.2 million this season, the final year of his contract. The 2015 Finals MVP won't play a single game for the Grizzlies.

But of those who did, every single one of them said the Lakers. “Best combination of ring chance and role,” one longtime team boss said. I thought someone would say the Clippers. None did. (Wait; just got one guy who says Clippers, but does so with no particular enthusiasm.) That means nothing, of course; the Clips stayed silent all through the KawhiStakes and wound up getting their man in large part because they kept their mouths shut. Also, there’s always a stealth team out there who sneaks into the mix.
Last season for the Warriors, Iguodala averaged 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists while shooting 50.0 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 58.2 percent from the free-throw line. The 35-year-old swingman put up 9.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists in the 2019 playoffs.
The Lakers are 6-1 on the young season.
The Purple and Gold, however, have to do whatever it takes to keep Iguodala away from the Clippers. If the Clips got Iggy, they would have Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Patrick Beverley and Iguodala as their wing defenders — something that would spell trouble for the rest of the NBA.
