One skilled Lakers fan gave the crowd inside Staples Center something to cheer for during Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings.
Like most NBA teams, the Lakers have several events throughout the course of a game. Sometimes, one lucky patron is chosen for a chance at sinking a half-court shot.
For most basketball fans, a half-court shot is simply out of their reach. This fan, however, seemed to have a shooter's touch.
With the crowd watching and the Laker Girls cheering him on, the fan shoved off from his back foot and sent the fateful shot on its way towards the hoop.
“Bang!” as play-by-play man Mike Breen would say. The fan's shot went right in. And as a result, he walked away with a cool $45,000:

In the end, the Lakers went on to defeat the Kings, 111-106, snapping a five-game losing streak. LeBron James led the charge for Los Angeles, recording 29 points on 9-of-22 shooting from the field (3-of-6 from beyond the arc), 11 assists, 11 rebounds, two steals and one block in 35 minutes of action. Kyle Kuzma also had 29 points (21 in the third quarter alone), while JaVale McGee brought down 14 rebounds:
“I felt I was healthy enough to go out and do something to help our team win, so I just went with my gut,” James told ESPN during his post-game media availability. “I'm happy I was able to go out and make a couple plays.”
The Lakers will be back in action on Tuesday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Washington Wizards. Tip-off is set for 10:30 p.m. ET, with ESPN having live broadcast coverage.
