Isaiah Thomas has always been an undersized guard currently sitting with a height of 5-foot-9, but he has never used that as an excuse in basketball, and even against all odds the Los Angeles Lakers guard has had a nice career so far in the NBA.

Even with the success that Thomas has had, it doesn't mean that he likes his height, and when he was younger he tried to hang on a pull-up bar to get taller.

ESPN recently had a special about Thomas, and in an interview with his parents, they talked about how he would cry and talk about how he wanted to be at least six feet in height.

“I wanna go to the doctor, I wanna know why I haven't grown yet”

Later, though, Thomas said he accepted the fact that he was going to be only 5-foot-9 and that seems to be one of the reasons that he has always played with a chip on his shoulder.

After being the last pick in the 2011 draft by the Sacramento Kings, he spent three seasons with them before joining the Phoenix Suns. He was traded from the Suns to the Boston Celtics and that is where he really seemed to thrive.

Last year with the Celtics, he averaged 28.9 points per game and led the team to the Eastern Conference finals. Early in the postseason, his sister died but Thomas still played through it.

This last off-season, he was traded from the Celtics to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He never really clicked on with LeBron James and was traded to the Lakers before the trade deadline.

Thomas will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
