Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant was seemingly destined for greatness in his days of playing high school basketball. Attending Lower Merion High School in Philadelphia, Bryant eventually made his way to Los Angeles after becoming a first round NBA Draft pick in 1996.
With Kobe Bryant being tragically killed in a helicopter accident earlier this year, the NBA legend has continued to remain a topic of discussion throughout 2020.
In the latest Kobe Bryant-related development, his high school game footage, interviews and other related clips are expected to sell for up to $350,000. Such footage will be sold on July 23rd by the auction house Profiles in History with the film stemming from the media library of Stu Ross. Ross notably produced “High School Sports Show,” which was a weekly television series that was at times seen across 35 cities.
According to the Associated Press and ESPN, “about 60% of the Bryant footage” is of games from his time at the aforementioned Lower Merion High School. Not only that, but the Kobe Bryant footage might just be the tip of the iceberg in terms of Ross' collection as he apparently has tape of some very high-profiled athletes in addition to the longtime Lakers superstar. LeBron James, Michael Phelps, Tom Brady and more are all said to be part of Ross' media library.
Spending his entire professional playing career as a member of the Lakers, which spanned from 1996 to 2016, the 41-year-old Kobe Bryant was a five-time NBA champion and 18-time NBA All-Star.
