With the new and improved Los Angeles Lakers squad, Stephen Curry expects purple and gold fans from the Golden State Warriors' Bay Area turf to sneak out of the shadows and pledge support.
The Lakers and the Golden State Warriors are probably two of the most exciting teams this season. And the best part is: they're both from California. Curry recalls the first time he played the Lakers at Oracle arena, noting that the place was a bit more tense than usual.
And given these facts, he expects more Lakers fans to head out to Oracle whenever the two teams play. He recognizes the huge target on their backs and called for the support of the Bay Area and Dub Nation:

It should be fun, the Bay Area and L.A. and the whole thing,” Curry said Monday in a sit-down with The Associated Press, via the Washington Post's Janie McCauley, while hosting his annual elite camp at Ultimate Fieldhouse. “When I first got into the league Oracle would be buzzing any time the Lakers came in. There probably will be a revolution of Laker fans that are going to try to creep in but I hope Bay Area and Dub Nation we keep control of that competition because we’re on top right now.”
The Lakers and the Warriors do not only belong to the same conference, but they also fall under the Pacific Division. This means that they will match up four times in the season: twice at home, twice away. Is this a budding Pacific Division rivalry?
