When thinking of the NBA's elite shooters, it is common for players like point guard Steph Curry and small forward Kyle Korver to be thrown into the discussion. Among the plethora of candidates, it is safe to assume that Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon would not be among them.
However, that may no longer be the case after pacing the NBA in three-point percentage (59.5) through the first 10 games. According to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, the only one not surprised by this revelation is Gordon himself:
Article Continues Below“People never saw me as a shooter,” Gordon said. “It’s going to take some time to shift the paradigm, but I don’t really care about that, man. I’m just playing a game. I feel comfortable out there. I feel capable of scoring from anywhere. It feels good.”
Gordon's prowess from the three-point line has added a new dimension to his seemingly limited offensive repertoire. While shooting percentages may be a bit deceiving this early in the season, the young forward has been a solid 25 of 42 from deep.
Over the last few years, Gordon had essentially been labeled as a purely a slam-dunk phenom. However, his strong numbers early on indicate that he could be making some big strides in the near future.
