Bam Adebayo is the center of attention not just in NBA circles, but in the sporting world as well, after he recorded a feat that would have his name etched in the record books for eternity. On Tuesday night, Adebayo scored an eye-popping total of 83 points, becoming the owner of the second-highest scoring game in the NBA (surpassing Kobe Bryant) in the Miami Heat's 150-129 win over the Washington Wizards.
Adebayo started the game on an ideal note, as he already had 31 points by the end of the first quarter. He had 45 points by the time halftime came along, and that was when he and the Heat started dreaming of making history — which they pulled off against the hapless Wizards.
The Heat star had nothing but a smile on his face, and nothing but gratitude has been coming out of his mouth ever since he secured the second-highest scoring game in NBA history. And he continued being thankful to the powers that be, as he posted a three-word message thanking a higher being after his historic effort.
“God is great 🙏🏾,” Adebayo wrote on his official account on X (formerly Twitter).
Heat star Bam Adebayo becomes center of attention

Even those who don't religiously follow the NBA know of Adebayo's 83-point effort. That's how historic his scoring night was. Imagine being mentioned in the same vein as Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant for the rest of your career. That's where the Heat star stands in the aftermath of his demolition of the Wizards.
This is nothing short of a feat that would have millions remember your name for the rest of time. Adebayo is now immortal in the sporting world, as unlikely as he was of a player to crack the 80-point club in the NBA, of which there are only three members of.
