Chris Bosh was on a meteoric rise to fame before his career was cut short due to health concerns. His rise to prominence began in Toronto, but ultimately ended with the Miami Heat.
With the Heat, Bosh played alongside the likes of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade — a triumvirate of power that appeared in the NBA Finals each year from 2011 to 2014 and won NBA titles in 2012 and 2013.
Wade, now 37 years of age, has announced that this will be his last season of service in the league. Like most hoops fans, Bosh has been watching this swan song.
In a recent interview with Rohan Nadkarni of Sports Illustrated, Bosh admitted that it has been bittersweet watching his longtime friend play in his last games:

RN: Is it a little bittersweet for you watching this retirement tour for Dwyane Wade?
CB: Yeah, at times. But one of the things I always tell myself is not let that get in the way of anything. Even if I do feel bad sometimes, I’m still happy for Dwyane. It makes you realize how special this is. One of my friends getting to have this moment is all that matters, because I didn’t get to have it.
Bosh, 35, hasn't played in the NBA since the 2015-16 season due to blood clots. He had maintained a level of hope that he might someday return, but he has officially given up on those dreams.
In the end, it's hard to say what the Heat could have been had the planets aligned just right. Would they have been able to stay together? And if so, how many titles would they have won? Not four? Not five?
