“Off the court, Wade — along with coach Erik Spoelstra and the Heat’s media relations staff — helped build an atmosphere of mutual respect and openness with the working media.”

Wade, now 37 years of age, announced that this would be his last season of service in the NBA. The former Marquette Golden Eagle played in 1054 games over the course of his career, racking up averages of 22.0 points on 48.0 percent shooting from the field (29.3 percent from beyond the arc), 5.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 1.5 steals and just under one block (0.8) in 33.9 minutes per outing.

Wade, a three-time champion, earned several other awards while playing in the NBA, including 13 All-Star nods, eight All-NBA Team selections and one Finals MVP. For his outstanding production in the 2009 season, he took home the league's scoring title.

Join us in congratulating Wade for being recognized with this award.
