Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra isn't going to even offer Dwyane Wade a coaching job.

Spoelstra says Heat is “too smart for that.”

Wade, the best player in Heat franchise history, has said he has interest in working in the front office once he's retired. That will come after he spends at least a year away from the game and with his family.

It would be kind of weird to see Wade as an assistant coach. The future Hall of Famer would be more useful in a front office role. Just imagine the Heat are trying to sign a superstar free agent and Wade is part of the meeting to help sell the Miami culture.

Tuesday is an emotional day for Spoelstra, Wade and Heat fans. Wade is playing in his final regular season home game. It just so happens that Miami is fighting for their playoff lives.

It's going to be interesting to see how Wade manages his emotions in his final regular season home game while trying to win the game for the Heat.

Regardless, it's been a hell of a career for Wade, is universally recognized as the third best shooting guard in NBA history behind Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
